Working in and giving back to the community is an important part of our culture at Donahue & Horrow LLP, and we are anxiously looking forward to the return to normalcy, allowing us to continue our philanthropic efforts. Some of the organizations that we have worked with include:

Our Annual Partners

Since 2014, Donahue & Horrow LLP has worked together with the community to adopt over 10 families per year and to sponsor and host a holiday event.  This event takes place at the Hope Street Family Center location.  Each year, over 50 people come together to participate in holiday events that include a catered lunch, holiday crafts, family pictures near the Christmas Tree as well as a beautiful holiday performance by West Coast Singers.

Hope Street Margolis Family Center is a community health, education, and recreation resource of California Hospital Medical Center (CHMC), a non-profit hospital that has served Los Angeles since 1887.

Donahue & Horrow LLP has participated annually, since the commencement of  Tour de Pier in 2013, in Manhattan Beach, CA. This annual event brings stationary cycling to the gorgeous outdoors of Manhattan Beach. Cyclists may ride for the entire five hours or teams can switch off members to raise money for cancer charities.

Each year, Tom and Michael sponsor two stationary bikes and each create a team who enjoy the camaraderie of participating in such a fun outdoor event for a worthy cause with their co-workers, friends, and community.

Some More Philanthropies That We Support

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) builds, rehabilitates, and repairs affordable and sustainable homes in partnership with hardworking, low-income families, individuals, and communities. Currently, Habitat LA has invested over $100 million in helping families, revitalizing neighborhoods, and creating more access to affordable housing. Donahue & Horrow LLP is proud to provide financial support as well as volunteer work to help repair sustainable homes for low-income families.  Additionally, Donahue & Horrow hopes to continue to provide hands-on support by participating in Habitat for Humanity’s Playhouse Program. This program will enable our team to work together to provide new playhouse structures which will, in turn, provide children with a space to call their own.

AMERICAN LUNG ASSOCIATION’S FIGHT FOR AIR CLIMB

Fight For Air Climbs are the American Lung Association’s most unique fundraisers. Climbs take place in prominent skyscrapers, stadiums, or arenas and involve walking, running, or racing up hundreds of steps. Sometimes called a “vertical road race,” teams and individual participants can use the event as a fitness target, as a race, or as a great way to be active and meet new friends.

The Aon Center is the second tallest building on the West Coast and has 63-stories. Prior to the pandemic, Donahue & Horrow’s employees, their families, and their friends participated in the Aon Center fundraiser. We are hoping to participate in an outdoor venue this year and going forward to continue to do our part to raise awareness about lung cancer and to help fight against lung disease.

 1736 FAMILY CRISIS CENTER

Since 1972, 1736 Family Crisis Center (1736 FCC ) has responded to the growing needs of victims of domestic violence, runaway and homeless youth, victims of human trafficking, homeless families, homeless and at-risk Veterans, unemployed adults and youth, and other low-income community members in need of assistance. Since 2014, Donahue & Horrow LLP has joined 1736 Family Crisis Center in their mission by participating in fundraising events, sponsoring events, and bringing awareness and education about these issues to surrounding communities.

  • In 2014, we sponsored and attended 1736 FCC’s Night of Comedy to Save Children, spotlighting awareness and education on human trafficking and sexual predators.
  • In 2017, we sponsored and attended 1736 FCC’s Night of Comedy and Charity with guest MC, Brad Garrett, spotlighting awareness and education on Domestic Violence and Youth Homelessness;
  • In 2018, we sponsored and participated in 1736 FCC’s Domestic Violence Campaign “Show Your Purple” to create awareness for Domestic Violence.

Making a Difference for the Holiday Season
Since 2014, Donahue & Horrow LLP alongside several community partners, including friends and other local businesses, have come together to provide the wants and needs of several families from Hope Street Family Center. The Hope Street Margolis Family Center is a community health, education, and recreation resource of California Hospital Medical Center, a non-profit hospital that has served the Los Angeles area since 1887. Specifically, many of the children in these families are receiving mental health treatment from experiencing and suffering domestic abuse. It is our honor and pleasure to bring joy to these families during the holiday season.
